Full Moon Celebration

Today all Balinese took to the beach to honor the full moon. Families came together, bringing offerings and worshiping the full moon. Some offerings were tiny and simple. Others were full of goodies:  flowers, water, fruits, eggs, cigarettes, candy, cookies, coconuts, small money, all displayed in hand made baskets. Each group would pile their offering on the ocean's edge and go away. I saw one family release a little chicken. Eventually, the ocean took away what the dogs and other people did not eat!
