Simple Delights

Every morning I am treated to a cacophony of bird calls. It begins with the roosters next door....LOTS of them, about 5 am! The other birds, large and small, sing from the tree canopy, in the palms and frangipani. It really is wonderful! Some of the plants (including the canopy I see when I swim on my back) outside my door:

Many evenings I stroll on up the street to the night market. The market is a community gathering place, very social. Balinese are very inclusive and I talk to many friendly people (some have a little English). It is like a big dinner picnic. Great cheap eats!

Many foods and drinks to experience: jack fruit smoothie is one of my favorites. Tonight they were out of jack fruit, so I got papaya. Here are the smoothie girls!

And...I have become fond of French manicures!

Then I tried this veggie omelet fried in some kind of very thin crust. EVERYTHING is fried here! I really liked itl
10,000 Rp (82 cents)

Other nights I select a plateful (I point...they dish it up) of Indonesian yummy stuff for about 13,000 Rp ($1.07)
So, you can see why both travelers and locals like the night market!

These little geckos are everywhere...in my room, in the garden, on the beach.

As always, every toilet has a bidet spray, the fancy ones and the very primitive. So civilized.

This man is collecting trash to keep the beach clean.

These trash baskets are all along the street.

Street side parking near my home.

And, when I am on the back of Joe's motorbike, directly in front of me is...hair!

I have a water dispenser in my kitchen. I empty it every 5 days and Wayan gets me a full one.
